Fixations addictions and habits to shade the facts for a while

Covering your eyes you can safely hide behind
The narrow band of evasion that lets yourself tell lies

Sightless and aimless you bump into reality
With your ersatz self-protection you miss opportunity
Romance strained, feelings unexplained
The comfortable familiar pain of aware-ness willingly constrained
